Job Summary: Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs installation, maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment and building facilities.

 

Location: Pensacola, Fl.

Position Type: Evaluation Hire

Pay: $20.00 per hour depending upon experience.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic failures and take appropriate corrective action.
•Locates sources of problems by observing machines in operation; listening for problems; uses measuring and testing instruments as required. Works with machine operators for troubleshooting.

•Ensures safe and effective operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; troubleshoots malfunctions.
•Dismantles equipment to gain access to faulty parts, remove, repair, reassemble and make necessary adjustments to insure safe startup and operation.
•Daily maintenance responsibilities including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as assigned.
•Controls downtime by educating production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
•Fabricates repair parts and/or recommends replacement parts to be purchased.
•Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
•Conserves resources and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
•Follows all safety procedures and policies including lock out tag out.
•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent Completion of a relevant vocational program
• At least two years hands on experience in maintenance and/or industrial repairs
• Forklift operation experience necessary
• Fundamental understanding of electrical systems is necessary
• Training related to lock-out-tag-out regulations is necessary
• Experience with Electronics, Pneumatics and Hydraulics are a plus
• Welding experience is a plus
• Basic computer skills necessary
• The ability to "think ahead" to prepare for next steps within current job and/or next job.
  
  Physical Demands:
  While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle, feel and reach. The team member is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member is occasionally required to climb and balance. The team member must regularly lift to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:

The team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to loud noises (hearing protection required). The production area is not climate controlled. The team member will be exposed to heat, cold and humidity.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime is mandatory. There is a one-hour lunch break allowed each day.
