Express Employment Professionals - Downtown Baton Rouge is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator for a local industrial company. This position offers a unique blend of administrative responsibilities and hands-on warehouse support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable tracking shipping and receiving data, performing data entry, and assisting with general warehouse operations when needed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Track and maintain shipping and receiving records
- Perform accurate data entry and inventory tracking
- Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
- Assist with inventory management and reporting
- Support bookkeeping and recordkeeping functions
- Load and unload trucks as needed
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently
- Assist with warehouse organization and material handling
- Communicate with vendors, drivers, and team members regarding shipments
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving, inventory control, or warehouse administration preferred
- Data entry and computer proficiency
- Bookkeeping or accounting experience highly preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Ability to load and unload materials safely
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Dependable and detail-oriented
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
