Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for a manufacturing opportunity in Mesa, AZ.

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting manufactured parts, materials, and production processes to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. This position involves performing inspections, documenting findings, identifying defects, and working with production and quality teams to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and has experience reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured parts, products, and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and inspection specifications.

• Utilize manual inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment to verify product measurements and quality.

• Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and testing documentation.

• Identify, document, and report product defects, manufacturing discrepancies, and supplier quality concerns.

• Sort, separate, and assist with the disposition of products that do not meet quality requirements.

• Collaborate with production personnel and quality engineers to identify problems and support corrective actions.

• Follow established inspection procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control processes.

• Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 0–1 year of quality inspection, quality control, or related manufacturing experience; equivalent education and experience will be considered.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with manual inspection tools, functional gauges, variable gauges, and testing equipment.

• Basic math skills, including shop math and measurements.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or inconsistencies.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to accurately document inspection findings and maintain quality records.

• Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow work instructions in English.

• Ability to successfully complete applicable job-related assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.

• Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, or Pareto analysis.

• Experience using SAP, Statistical Process Control (SPC) software, or similar quality management systems.

• Intermediate Excel skills or experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI.

• Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming products.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to handle and inspect parts using precision tools and equipment.

• Ability to perform occasional bending, reaching, and lifting.

• Ability to visually inspect products for defects, including distinguishing colors and evaluating small details and measurements.
