Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to help manage customer payments, maintain accurate account records, and resolve billing discrepancies. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, and communicating with customers to keep accounts up to date.

What You’ll Do

• Process customer invoices and apply payments to the correct accounts.

• Maintain lockbox records and process account credits and debits.

• Research payment discrepancies and resolve billing issues.

• Contact customers by phone and email regarding overdue invoices and outstanding balances.

• File freight claims and help resolve customer claim disputes.

• Keep accounts receivable records accurate, organized, and current.

• Assist with general office tasks, including answering phones, filing, and sorting mail.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally involving accounts receivable, invoicing, payment processing, or collections.

• Understanding of customer account balances, credits, debits, and payment application.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and email.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Clear, professional communication and the ability to work through account discrepancies.

• Willingness and ability to travel to Arcola, IL.

Skills & Equipment

Experience using computers, Excel, email, adding machines, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and standard accounting or office equipment is helpful.
