Property Maintenance Technician

Salary: $18-$20/hr

Property Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

A property management company in the Kentwood area is looking for an experienced Property Maintenance Technician to support an apartment community. This position will focus primarily on apartment turns, resident service requests, general repairs, and day-to-day property maintenance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working independently across a variety of maintenance needs.

Property Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Complete apartment turns and prepare units for new residents
• Respond to resident service requests and work orders
• Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance
• Complete light plumbing repairs
• Complete light electrical repairs
• Replace fixtures, outlets, switches, and other basic components
• Troubleshoot appliances and determine when additional repair support is needed
• Assist with grounds and exterior property maintenance as needed
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Communicate clearly with property management regarding repairs, priorities, and completed work

Schedule & Pay:

• Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
• $18-$20/hr based on experience

Property Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of apartment, property, building, handyman, construction, or related maintenance experience preferred
• Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with apartment turns and resident work orders preferred
• Comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, fixtures, and appliance troubleshooting
• Must have own basic hand tools
• Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Good driving record
• Ability to pass client background requirements
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently
