Shop Helper – Metal Manufacturing

Pay: $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM

Are you hands-on, physically fit, and comfortable working with hand tools and power tools? Express Guelph is recruiting a reliable Shop Helper for a local metal manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking steady, long-term work with room for growth.

The company manufactures custom sheet metal products, including HVAC ductwork, fittings, brackets, panels, and metal flashing.

Responsibilities:

• Build wooden skids by measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
• Use chop saws, measuring tapes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Assist with various manufacturing and general shop tasks.
• Clean and organize the shop, including removing wood scraps and debris after cutting.
• Move and organize materials while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Complete repetitive tasks accurately and pay close attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Must be available to start immediately and commit to the full-time schedule.
• Previous experience with hand tools, power tools, construction, manufacturing, or physical labour is an asset.
• Comfortable regularly lifting up to 50 lbs (occasional assisted lifts of up to 100 lbs).
• Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.
• CSA-approved safety footwear required.
