Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an experienced Assistant Controller for a manufacturing opportunity!

This position supports the Controller in managing financial reporting, accounting operations, and the close process. We’re looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys investigating discrepancies, improving processes, and collaborating across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and the general ledger
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate general ledger and ERP data
• Oversee GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and applicable FAR/DFARS requirements
• Manage payroll, fixed asset, and inventory accounting
• Support cash flow analysis and audit preparation
• Drive accounting and system improvements
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7–9 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting data integrity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA or MBA
• Manufacturing and/or government contracting experience
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
• Experience mentoring accounting team members

This role is primarily office-based. Applicants must meet applicable U.S. export-control authorization requirements.
