We are seeking a skilled and motivated RF Shielding Technician to join our growing team specializing in the installation and servicing of Radio Frequency (RF) shielding systems for MRI suites, medical imaging facilities, research laboratories, and specialized secure environments across Canada.

What You'll Do
As an RF Shielding Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of RF shielding systems used primarily in MRI facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install RF shielding systems, including copper, galvanized steel, and modular panel assemblies.
- Install RF doors, windows, waveguides, filters, penetration panels, and related components.
- Read and interpret architectural, construction, shop, and installation drawings.
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble shielding materials to project specifications.
- Perform soldering, fastening, and finishing work to ensure shielding integrity.
- Conduct RF attenuation and continuity testing to verify system performance.
- Diagnose and repair shielding deficiencies and RF leaks.
- Assist with commissioning and final acceptance testing of MRI suites.
- Complete service, maintenance, and repair work on existing installations.
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other trades on site.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and testing records
- Follow all company and client safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Canada.
- Experience in construction, electrical work, mechanical assembly, metal fabrication, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Eligible to work in Canada and pass a criminal background screen
Assets:
- Previous RF shielding or MRI construction experience.
- Experience working in healthcare or hospital environments.
- Basic electrical or electronics knowledge.
- Welding, soldering, or sheet metal experience.
- Familiarity with RF attenuation testing and commissioning procedures.
- Fall Protection, WHMIS, First Aid, or Elevated Work Platform certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves hands-on installation work and requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
- Work in active construction and renovation sites.
- Travel and stay overnight when project schedules require.
Wage: $30.00 - $35.00/hour
