Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Flexible Schedule Between 5:00 AM-5:00 PM (Most employees start around 6:00 AM; must arrive no later than 9:00 AM)

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Metal Fabrication Welder to join a local manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing MIG welding on fabricated metal components, assisting with fabrication and assembly processes, and ensuring quality workmanship while meeting production deadlines. The ideal candidate will have previous metal fabrication and MIG welding experience and be comfortable working independently in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on fabricated metal components
• Assist with metal fabrication and assembly processes
• Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
• Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards
• Inspect finished products for accuracy and workmanship
• Operate welding equipment and fabrication tools safely
• Meet production schedules and deadlines
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Previous metal fabrication experience required
• Previous MIG welding experience required
• Must successfully complete a weld test
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
• Dependable and safety-conscious

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and move metal materials as needed
• Ability to perform repetitive welding and fabrication tasks
• Comfortable working with welding equipment and fabrication machinery
• Ability to bend, reach, and maneuver materials throughout the workday
