Picking/Putaway Associate

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Picking/Putaway Associate to join a local warehouse team. This position is responsible for moving product from the tote department into designated storage locations, picking orders for shipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records using handheld scanners. The ideal candidate will have previous shipping and receiving experience, solid forklift skills, and experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move product from the tote department and place it in assigned storage locations
• Pick products accurately to fulfill customer and shipment orders
• Operate a reach truck, order picker, and other warehouse equipment
• Utilize handheld scanners to manage inventory and track product movement
• Verify inventory accuracy and report discrepancies
• Organize products within warehouse racks and storage areas
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed
• Follow warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:

• Previous shipping and/or receiving experience required
• Strong forklift experience required
• Experience operating a reach truck or order picker preferred
• Ability to use handheld scanners and inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable with good attendance and reliability
• Warehouse experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
• Frequent kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
