Compensation: $19.00 per hour
Mileage Reimbursement: Eligible work-related mileage reimbursed for up to 30 miles per workday, in accordance with project guidelines.

Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented, reliable, and responsible individuals to support a Point of Interest (POI) map data collection and update project throughout San Joaquin County. This role involves traveling to assigned businesses and locations to verify information, capture exterior photographs, and submit accurate data using a designated mobile application.

The collected information will help improve the accuracy and completeness of digital map listings.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have access to a compatible Android smartphone and reliable transportation. This position requires regular travel throughout San Joaquin County to reach assigned collection locations. Applicants must be able to independently travel between designated sites and perform outdoor fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to designated restaurants, businesses, and other assigned locations throughout San Joaquin County.

• Use map navigation to locate assigned collection points.

• Verify business information and current operating status.

• Take clear, accurate exterior photographs from designated locations.

• Record and submit findings through the assigned mobile application.

• Accurately report permanent or temporary closures, renovations, and business relocations.

• Complete assigned collections, data uploads, and progress updates within project timelines.

• Correct or retake photographs and update submissions when requested during quality checks.

• Follow all project instructions, photography standards, and data collection procedures.

Training and Work Procedures

• Complete required online training before beginning field assignments.

• Understand and follow all collection procedures and photography standards.

• Travel throughout the assigned areas of San Joaquin County according to the designated site list and project scope.

• Take photographs only after arriving at the designated location. Photography from inside a vehicle is not permitted.

• Submit truthful observations and complete, accurate information.

• Maintain consistent communication regarding assignment progress and completion.

Important: This role does not involve entering stores, promoting products, selling merchandise, or performing other commercial activities. All data collection and photography must follow the project's instructions.

Candidate Requirements

• Android smartphone required. Applicants must have access to an Android device compatible with the designated project application. iPhones and other non-Android devices do not meet this requirement.

• Reliable transportation required. Applicants must have dependable transportation arrangements to travel between assigned locations throughout San Joaquin County.

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the county as required by project assignments.

• Ability to perform extensive outdoor walking and fieldwork.

• Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to assigned tasks.

• Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

• Ability to use a smartphone for navigation, photography, and data uploads.

• Willingness to comply with project quality standards and collection requirements.

Prior relevant work experience is not required. Training and project instructions will be provided.

Quality Standards and Compliance

All submissions may be subject to project quality checks. Photographs must be clear, and submitted information must be accurate and complete. Corrections or retakes may be required if submissions do not meet project standards.

False submissions, photographing locations from inside a vehicle, failure to follow collection procedures, or other serious violations of project requirements may result in suspension of future assignments.
