Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician

Location: Savannah, GA
Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician for a company in Savannah. We’re looking for a dependable, skilled mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Job Duties:

• Repair, maintain, and overhaul diesel and gas equipment, including engines, brakes, transmissions, springs, hydraulics, fuel systems, and air systems.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot trucks, tractors, forklifts, container handlers, hydraulic pumps, small engines, and specialized equipment.

• Respond promptly and professionally to road-service calls and repair disabled equipment.

• Safely use specialized hand and power tools, including welding and fabrication equipment.

• Assist with inventory, maintain equipment records, and request parts, tools, and supplies as needed.

• Follow established safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Five or more years of diesel mechanic experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered based on qualifications.

• Knowledge of heavy equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, and safe repair practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting or moving objects weighing over 100 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment, standing and walking for extended periods, and working on uneven surfaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.
