Express Employment Professionals- Atlanta NE is seeking an experienced Logistics Shipping Team Lead for a client’s shipping and distribution department. This position leads daily operations, coordinates team assignments, and supports the Department Manager in meeting shipping deadlines, safety standards, and productivity goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support shipping team members; schedule daily work and balance workloads.

• Coordinate shipments, verify orders, and complete accurate shipping documentation.

• Work with other departments to meet customer requirements and resolve shipping issues.

• Maintain safe, organized operations and support Lean practices and continuous improvement.

• Communicate daily progress, operational concerns, and staffing needs to management.

Required Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing a team.

• Shipping/distribution experience.

• Stand-up forklift experience.

• Hazmat training and certification for shipping hazardous products.

• International shipping experience, including shipping container knowledge.

• Experience with FedEx, UPS, and air shipments.

• Experience applying 5S and Lean practices.

• Strong project planning, daily scheduling, and time management skills.

• Team-oriented approach with experience collaborating across departments.

• Professional conduct and strong communication skills.

• Ability to interpret orders, planning reports, and safety procedures and work with limited supervision.
