Express Employment Professionals in West Des Moines is recruiting an Experienced CNC Machinist for an established manufacturing company in Urbandale, IA.

We're looking for a skilled machinist with hands-on CNC experience who can confidently set up and operate equipment, read blueprints, and produce precision parts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines and other machining equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
• Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and adjustments
• Monitor machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed
• Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy and required tolerances
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain production quality
• Perform routine machine maintenance and follow safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Work with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing standards

Job Requirements

• 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines
• Strong blueprint reading and mechanical skills
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Understanding of machining tolerances, tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Ability to independently troubleshoot machine and quality issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable attendance and ability to work independently or with a team
• CNC programming experience is a plus
