Overview:

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Temporary Maintenance Technician for a multi-unit affordable housing community in Bremerton. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional seeking stable work with the potential to become a permanent member of the team.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of maintenance experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to remain professional in a residential housing environment. We are looking for someone who can stay focused on assigned tasks, maintain appropriate professional boundaries with tenants, and work independently while providing quality maintenance services.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the property
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in residential units and common areas
• Assist with apartment turns and unit preparation
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine maintenance tasks
• Maintain building systems, grounds, and common areas
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as needed
• Keep detailed records of completed maintenance work
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supply inventory
• Work professionally in an occupied residential environment while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate tenant boundaries

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required
• Previous apartment, housing, facilities, or property maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Valid Washington State driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to stay focused on job duties and avoid involvement in tenant conflicts or personal matters
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Ability to access confined spaces and work from ladders when necessary
