Maintenance Technician – First Shift

 

Location: St. Paul, MN 

 

Pay: $20 – $30/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior maintenance technicians with repairs and general equipment maintenance

• Perform routine greasing and lubrication of all non-mobile shredder/plant equipment

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and monthly audits

  • Includes fire extinguisher inspections, air filter changes, and nightly equipment clean-up

• Fabricate jigs or fixtures as requested by operations staff

  • Welding, torching, and light machining skills preferred

• Maintain general shop and plant cleanliness (trash removal, floor sweeping)

• Identify and report opportunities for process improvement

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace

• Support team efforts by taking direction from supervisors and senior technicians

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in maintenance or mechanical work helpful but not required

• Basic mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn advanced skills on the job

• Knowledge of basic tools, with some experience in welding and fabrication a plus

• Understanding of hydraulic systems is a bonus

• Ability to read basic technical manuals and diagrams

• Physically fit and capable of manual labor in an industrial setting

• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
