Accounting Manager Job Summary 

A rapidly growing manufacturing company in Allegan, MI, is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to support its expanding operations and evolving financial processes. The company is preparing for continued growth and needs a strong accounting professional to help strengthen processes, support integration efforts, and maintain accurate financial records. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial, close-knit environment and wants room to grow. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close, while helping support a planned transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite. 

Accounting Manager Responsibilities 

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. 

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure accurate, timely financial records and reconciliations. 

• Support financial reporting and provide reliable accounting information to company leadership and the CFO. 

• Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and procedures as the company grows. 

• Assist with post-acquisition integration and the development of scalable accounting practices. 

• Support the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite, including data migration, process improvements, and system implementation. 

• Manage accounting activities related to manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost tracking. 

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across accounting functions. 

• Collaborate with operations and leadership to support business needs and financial accountability. 

• Take a hands-on approach to resolving accounting issues and managing competing priorities. 

• Support additional projects and responsibilities as the business continues to expand. 

Schedule & Compensation 

Schedule: Full-Time 

Position Type: Contract-to-Hire 

Location: Allegan, MI 

Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience 

Accounting Manager Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 

• Experience managing general accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, AP, and AR. 

• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and internal controls. 

• Experience with payroll and general ledger management. 

• Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience preferred. 

• Experience with QuickBooks required or strongly preferred; NetSuite experience is a plus. 

• Experience supporting accounting system implementations, integrations, or process improvements preferred. 

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and adapt in a growing business. 

• Comfortable balancing hands-on accounting work with opportunities to improve processes and support broader business needs. 

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams.
