Structural Welder / Fitter (Temp-to-Hire)

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Structural Welder / Fitters to join a growing steel fabrication operation. This position requires individuals who are comfortable both fitting and welding heavy structural steel components and can work independently while maintaining high quality standards. Candidates must have previous structural welding experience and be capable of reading fabrication drawings and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld heavy structural steel assemblies, including beams, columns, tubing, channels, and connection components. 
• Perform primarily Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) on carbon steel.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and shop details. 
• Layout, fit, tack, and weld components to required specifications. 
• Inspect assemblies for proper fit, alignment, and overall quality. 
• Safely utilize overhead cranes and fabrication tools. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous structural steel fitting and welding experience required.
• Strong Flux-Core (FCAW) welding experience required. 
• Ability to read shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Must be comfortable performing both fitting and welding duties. 
• Experience with heavy structural steel fabrication strongly preferred. 
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Hiring Requirements

• Welding test required.

• Background check required.
