Air Import Specialist

Salary: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Summary:
We are urgently looking for an Air Import Specialist for a freight forwarding service company to be responsible for handling all aspects of air import shipments, ensuring smooth and timely transportation of goods from origin to destination. This role involves coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to provide excellent customer service and compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end air import process, including booking, tracking, and documentation.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, airlines, and freight forwarders to ensure timely arrival and clearance of shipments.
• Prepare and review import documentation (air waybills, invoices, packing lists, etc.) for accuracy and compliance.
• Work closely with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance and resolve any issues.
• Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and any delays or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations and DHL policies.
• Update internal systems with shipment milestones and documentation.
• Handle billing, invoicing, and cost control related to air import shipments.
• Investigate and resolve any service failures or claims in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in air import operations, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of international air freight, customs regulations, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
