Job Summary:                                     Front Loader/Forklift Operator       

 

We are looking for a yard worker and equipment operator for a landscaping supply company in North Ft Myers area. 

               

The Loader and Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, unload, and move landscaping materials such as mulch, soil, gravel, and stone. The operator ensures materials are handled efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.  The operator will be loading rock and material into clients trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts, small front-end loaders, and other equipment to load and unload materials.
• Assist customers and delivery drivers by accurately loading their vehicles with the correct products.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues to maintenance or supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and storage areas.
• Ensure all materials are stocked and accessible, replenishing inventory as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE at all times.
• Assist with manual labor duties including bagging, stacking, or palletizing materials.
• Record load tickets and ensure proper documentation is completed.
• Collaborate with team members and yard staff to coordinate workflow.
• Support general yard operations as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year of experience operating forklifts or loaders (landscaping or construction industry preferred).
• Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.  Heat and rain included
• Physically demanding with frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
• Use of heavy equipment and machinery.

 

Position Type:   Full Time Temp to Perm

Pay:          $17.00 (10-15 hours of overtime weekly)

Schedule:    7am to 5pm (some Saturdays may be needed)
