About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals in Southeast Phoenix is recruiting an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a local manufacturing company.

We're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual with strong electrical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience maintaining industrial equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable diagnosing complex equipment issues, performing repairs, and working with a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

This position is an important part of keeping production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

What You'll Be Doing

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues.
Troubleshoot electronic controllers, electrical circuits, transmitters, and industrial control components.
Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, circuit board schematics, and technical drawings.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, plumbing components, and related equipment.
Identify equipment failures and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.

Mechanical & Facility Repairs

Perform basic machining and fabrication using hand tools and power equipment.
Complete welding and metal repair tasks as needed.
Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and facility improvements.
Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing and electrical repairs.
Safely operate forklifts and other equipment as required.

Safety & Teamwork

Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Work with production teams to identify and resolve equipment concerns.
Communicate repair needs, equipment conditions, and maintenance updates.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting abilities.
Working knowledge of electronic controllers, electrical circuits, current measurements, and transmitters.
Ability to read and understand circuit board schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and plumbing systems.
Basic machining experience using hand tools and power tools.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience operating forklifts.
Ability to diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs independently.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance duties, including standing, bending, climbing, and reaching.

Additional Experience That Would Be a Plus

Technical certification or formal training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Background maintaining automated manufacturing or specialized production equipment.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance planning and equipment reliability practices.

Work Environment

Active industrial manufacturing environment.
Hands-on work with machinery, electrical components, tools, and equipment.
Exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and industrial materials.
Personal protective equipment may be required.
Occasional overtime, weekend work, or urgent maintenance support may be necessary.
