Pay: $25.00–$30.00/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM (2nd Shift)

Our client is a leading centrifugal pump manufacturer with over 75 years of industry experience. The company serves agriculture, industrial, municipal, rental, and mining markets, with manufacturing facilities in Clackamas, OR; Vancouver, WA; and Rock Hill, SC.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to perform machine setups and machining operations in a production environment. This position is ideal for a hands-on machinist with CNC programming, blueprint reading, and precision measurement experience who takes pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full machine setups, including fixtures, tooling, and offsets.

  • Set speeds, feeds, and coolant flow while verifying first-article quality.

  • Read blueprints, routings, and specifications to maintain required tolerances.

  • Edit and input CNC programs using G and M code.

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.

  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues with production and engineering teams.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance and tool grinding or sharpening.

  • Create and maintain setup documentation.

  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and lifting devices as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE and safety requirements.

Machines & Technology

  • 3-axis vertical CNC mills: Haas, Fanuc

  • 2–3-axis CNC lathes: Haas, Hwacheon, Samsung, Hyundai-Wia, Doosan

  • 5-axis CNC mills: Haas

  • 3–4-axis horizontal CNC mills: Mazak, Haas

  • Precision inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers

Experience Required

  • Previous hands-on experience performing full machine setups in a production machining environment.

  • Experience editing CNC programs at the machine using G and M code.

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T fundamentals.

  • Experience machining parts to tight tolerances.

  • Strong understanding of machining processes and precision measurement.

  • Ownership of workmanship and setup accuracy.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use.

This is not an entry-level operator position. Prior production machining and full setup experience are required, but training and team support are provided to help you continue developing your skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Regular exposure to moving machinery, noise, and airborne particles.

  • Occasional exposure to machining chemicals.

  • Required use of PPE, including hearing protection.

  • Ability to stand, lift, and perform manual handling tasks typical of a machining environment.
