Position Summary

As a Vehicle Support Specialist, you will become an expert on diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and chassis electrical systems. You will provide accurate and timely support to dealership technicians, communicate technical information across departments, and serve as a first point of contact for dealer support with the goal of maximizing customer uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct Tier 1 technical support to dealership technicians by:
    • Identifying customer concerns, reviewing troubleshooting results, and providing timely and accurate support through an internal case management system.
    • Following up on repair progress to ensure vehicles are returned to service as quickly as possible.
    • Providing software support for engine and chassis applications that require special approvals, additional research, or advanced troubleshooting.
  • Support cross-functional projects related to service tools, documentation, product quality, and customer feedback initiatives.
  • Escalate complex vehicle issues to technical leads, advanced support teams, and leadership as appropriate.
  • Earn and maintain required engine and technical certifications while staying current on industry systems and technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Automotive or Diesel Technical Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to earn and maintain technical certifications.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive and/or diesel engine diagnostics required; OEM dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of engine and aftertreatment systems with the ability to diagnose component and system faults.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical system theory with the ability to diagnose electrical faults.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard diagnostic tools and technologies, including OBD (On-Board Diagnostics).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing schedules and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service, written communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

Salary Range: $67,800 - $92,950 annually

Compensation will be based on factors such as education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
