Hardwood Moulder Operator

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Overtime as needed)
Pay: DOE (Depends on Experience)

 

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Hardwood Moulder Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining woodworking moulders used to produce high-quality hardwood moldings and custom profiles. The ideal candidate has experience with moulder setup, tooling changes, quality control, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hardwood moulders according to production schedules and work orders.
  • Set up machines, tooling, and heads for various molding profiles.
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy, profile consistency, and overall quality.
  • Read work orders, specifications, and profile drawings.
  • Change knives and assist with knife grinding and tooling maintenance as needed.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and operational.
  • Trim, label, stack, and package finished products for shipment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating a woodworking moulder required.
  • Experience with Weinig, Leadermac, SCM, or similar moulders preferred.
  • Knowledge of moulder setup, knife changes, and profile production.
  • Knife grinding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime when needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Running 4-head, 6-head, or 8-head moulders.
  • Producing crown molding, base, casing, face-frame stock, and custom profiles.
  • Setting up and grinding profile knives.
  • Working in a hardwood millwork, cabinet shop, or architectural woodworking environment.
