Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Move goods and products to and from delivery trucks, rail cars, or storage bays.
  • Material Transport: Relocate raw materials or finished products to designated warehouse areas.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre-shift and post-shift checks to ensure the forklift is safe and report any needed repairs.
  • Inventory Control: Scan bar codes using radio frequency (RF) equipment, track shipments, and record weights or counts.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety rules, secure loads properly, and keep work areas clean. 
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certification: Hold a valid forklift operator certificate or license, often aligned with OSHA guidelines.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Strength: Lift moderate to heavy items and sit or stand for long periods.
  • Skills: Good hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and basic math skills
