Job Description: A manufacturing company in Chesapeake is seeking skilled Manual Machinists to join their team. The ideal candidate will set up, program, and operate manual machines to produce precision components. This position offers hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, a dynamic work environment, and opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment, to verify tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine or tooling issues.
• Select and adjust tooling and fixtures for optimal machining performance.
• Conduct quality checks throughout production to ensure all components meet specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes using lean principles.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace while following all safety protocols.
• Assist with assembly or material handling tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in manual machining.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand basic mechanical principles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills, including dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
