Company Overview

Our client is a well-established Lubbock-area manufacturing company specializing in precision-machined components and industrial production solutions. The company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations, improve efficiencies, and develop high-performing teams.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, production personnel, equipment, maintenance programs, quality standards, and safety initiatives. This role ensures efficient production, cost control, workforce development, and continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, and delivery goals are achieved.
• Manage labor, equipment, and resources to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor production KPIs, labor utilization, and operational performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop manufacturing personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing procedures, and customer requirements.
• Investigate and implement corrective actions for quality and production issues.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
• Manage procurement of MRO supplies, tooling, and manufacturing-related materials.
• Promote workplace safety and compliance through training, communication, and enforcement of policies.
• Participate in operational planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance review activities.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that support company growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a machine shop or manufacturing operation.
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of FANUC and MAZATROL controls.
• Experience with G-code programming; MasterCAM experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, budgeting, and workforce management.
• Strong decision-making, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Effective communication skills with employees, customers, and leadership teams.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as required.
• Manufacturing and machine shop environment with moderate to high noise levels.
• Full-time position requiring flexibility to support operational needs, including occasional overtime and limited travel.
