General Utility Worker

Job Summary

Are you dependable, hardworking, and comfortable with hands-on cleaning? Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable General Utility Worker to support cleaning and sanitation across a local healthcare facility. This position will primarily focus on maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and food service areas, including dishes, equipment, and workspaces. Additional cleaning and general utility duties in other areas of the facility may be assigned as needed.

Pay: $17.00 /hour

Hours: Shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM
Availability: Must be available for morning and afternoon/evening shifts
Primary Staffing Needs: Afternoon shifts and weekends
Break: One 30-minute unpaid break
Employment Type: Full-time

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, sinks, and work surfaces.

• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food service areas.

• Use appropriate cleaning products, tools, and equipment to maintain cleanliness.

• Follow established sanitation procedures and maintain a safe, orderly work environment.

General Facility Support

• Assist with general cleaning and utility tasks in other areas of the facility as needed.

• Help maintain clean and presentable workspaces and common areas as assigned.

• Replenish cleaning supplies and assist with other routine cleaning duties as directed.

• Support daily facility operations by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Safety & Teamwork

• Follow workplace safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Work cooperatively with team members and follow instructions from the supervisor.

• Perform other cleaning and utility duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, custodial work, dishwashing, or food service is helpful but not required.

• Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures preferred.

• Ability to follow instructions and workplace safety procedures.

• Must be available to work both morning and afternoon/evening shifts, including weekends.

• Must be able to read diet tickets written in English.

• Ability to maintain clean and sanitary work areas.

• Ability to work safely around water, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.

• Ability to wear required uniforms and PPE.

Work Environment

• Healthcare facility, primarily working in kitchen and food service areas.

• May be assigned cleaning and general utility duties in other areas of the facility.

• Work may involve wet surfaces, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.

• Requires adherence to sanitation, safety, and facility cleanliness standards.
