Our client in Painesville, OH is seeking an experienced Precision Machinist to join our 1st Shift team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify precision components to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong manual machining skills, basic CNC experience, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
• Operate and make basic adjustments to CNC machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Machine components to tight tolerances and quality specifications.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and general shop duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of precision machining experience preferred.
• Strong experience with manual machining equipment required.
• Basic CNC machining experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and measuring equipment safely.

Compensation & Schedule

• 1st Shift
• $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience
