Press Brake Operator – Setup & Programming

Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced Press Brake Operators who can independently set up, program, and operate press brake machinery in a metal manufacturing environment.
This skilled position requires strong blueprint-reading skills, tooling knowledge, and the ability to produce accurate bends while meeting required dimensions and tolerances. Experience with Durma-brand press brakes is strongly preferred and will receive priority consideration.
Responsibilities

Independently set up, program, operate, and monitor press brake machinery.

Program machines according to blueprints, job specifications, material types, and required bend sequences.

Select and install appropriate punches, dies, and tooling for each production job.

Calculate bend allowances, angles, dimensions, and material requirements.

Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production specifications.

Adjust machine settings, back gauges, tooling, and programs to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.

Operate multiple press brake machines throughout the shift.

Inspect first-piece and completed parts to verify accuracy before continuing production.

Use calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, tape measures, and other measuring tools to inspect finished parts.

Identify incorrect bends, dimensional issues, material defects, and other production concerns.

Make programming, tooling, or machine adjustments to correct quality issues.

Safely load raw materials and remove completed parts.

Maintain accurate production, quality, and machine documentation.

Follow safety procedures when operating equipment and handling metal materials.

Keep tools, equipment, and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
Requirements & Qualifications

Proven experience independently setting up, programming, and operating press brake machinery required.

Strong blueprint-reading and interpretation skills.

Experience selecting tooling and determining appropriate machine settings.

Ability to use precision measuring tools to verify angles, dimensions, and tolerances.

Strong understanding of metal-forming processes, bend sequences, and press brake operations.

Durma-brand press brake experience strongly preferred.

Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality concerns.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, quality parts.

Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to follow work instructions, production requirements, and safety procedures.
Candidates must be able to complete setups, program equipment, select tooling, and verify finished parts without constant supervision. Experience limited to loading materials and running preset programs does not meet the requirements for this position.
Physical Requirements
