About the Company

Express Employment is seeking a skilled Radio Communications/RF Technician for a local communications company. This position will work exclusively with commercial customers, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing two-way radio and communication systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair two-way radio and communication equipment for commercial customers.
• Diagnose issues with portable and mobile radios, communication systems, and related infrastructure.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment testing.
• Maintain accurate service records and update equipment databases.
• Provide technical support and communicate directly with customers regarding equipment and system issues.
• Work with equipment including Motorola systems, LTR trunking systems, wide-area coverage systems, bi-directional amplifiers, paging systems, and console systems.
• Follow all safety procedures and stay current with new communication technologies.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics, radio technology, or a related technical field.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders, platforms, or aerial devices when needed.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test; background check and fingerprinting may also be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using RF signal generators, network/spectrum analyzers, wattmeters, frequency meters, deviation meters, or service monitors.
• Experience with wireless equipment, base transmitters, antenna systems, radio trunking, or microwave networks.
• MECP, ETA, or CET certification is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain required licenses and certifications after hire.
