Pavement Striping Laborer / Striping Technician

Overview: Assist a striping crew with layout and application of pavement markings on parking lots, roads, and commercial properties.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by sweeping, blowing off debris, and cleaning before painting.
Measure and lay out lines, stalls, arrows, and symbols using chalk lines, tape, and stencils.
Operate or assist with line-striping machines (walk-behind or ride-on).
Paint ADA symbols, fire lanes, crosswalks, curbs, and lettering with stencils.
Set up and break down traffic cones, barricades, and signage for a safe work zone.
Load and unload equipment and materials and keep equipment clean and maintained.
Help with sealcoating or crack filling if the company offers those services.
Travel to job sites with the crew, which may include nights and weekends to avoid traffic.

Requirements

Able to work outdoors in heat, cold, and changing weather.
Able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for long periods and lift 50+ lbs.
Reliable transportation to the shop or meeting point.
Attention to detail, since straight, accurate lines matter.
Striping or construction experience preferred. A valid driver’s license is a plus, and a CDL is a bonus if they tow equipment.

Schedule: Often early starts, overnight shifts for parking lots, and weekend work. Hours may be seasonal and weather-dependent.
