Inventory Specialist

The Inventory Specialist supports daily inventory and material handling operations to ensure parts and supplies are accurately received, stored, and available when needed. This position maintains inventory records, monitors stock levels, and works closely with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams to support efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Stock and organize parts in designated locations, maintaining accurate labels and bin assignments.
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to prevent shortages.
• Pick, stage, and deliver materials to designated work areas or customer locations.
• Record receipts, transfers, and inventory adjustments using inventory management software.
• Identify damaged, obsolete, or excess inventory and report findings.
• Assist with shipping, returns, and related documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow established safety procedures.
• Communicate material availability and inventory concerns to appropriate team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, material handling, or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory management systems.
• Ability to organize tasks, manage priorities, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with barcode scanners, pallet jacks, or forklifts preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a warehouse or manufacturing environment and may involve standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving materials throughout the shift. Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
