1^st Shift Field Technician Lead

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Field Technician Lead to join a field operations team responsible for collecting data and photographs of utility poles throughout Indiana. This position requires significant travel, outdoor work, extensive walking, and prior leadership experience.

The Field Technician Lead will help keep the team focused on daily goals while ensuring accurate data collection in the field. This is a hands-on position and does not involve performing repairs on utility infrastructure.

Pay/Benefits:

• $22/hr
• Currently not offered. This is a startup organization with plans for future growth.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

• Overtime as needed

Company Info:

Our client is a growing startup specializing in utility pole data collection and inspection services. They work directly with power companies and utility service providers to assess utility pole conditions, determine infrastructure requirements, and support engineering decisions regarding utility installations and maintenance.

Job Duties:

• Lead and support a field crew conducting utility pole inspections
• Travel throughout Indiana to perform utility pole surveys
• Collect accurate field data and photographs for engineering review
• Ensure team productivity and adherence to daily objectives
• Walk between utility poles across residential, rural, and commercial areas
• Work safely around traffic, utility corridors, and varying terrain
• Interact professionally with property owners and members of the public when necessary
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Previous leadership or team lead experience
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift and carry cameras, survey equipment, and related tools
• Ability to walk long distances throughout the workday
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay productive in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to work around traffic, uneven terrain, barking dogs, and occasional difficult customer interactions

Preferred:

• Experience in field operations, surveying, construction, utility services, telecommunications, or outdoor labor
• Experience managing or directing small teams
