General Help / Machine Operator Assistant – 3rd Shift

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity | Direct Hire Eligibility After 60 Days | Local 701 Union

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with the potential to be hired directly after 60 days based on attendance, performance, and business needs.

Pay & Schedule

Starting Pay: $22.10/hour

Regular Shift

  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Current Production Schedule

  • Overtime is currently being worked
  • Saturday work is required based on production demands
  • Associates should expect 12-hour workdays during overtime periods

Training Requirements

  • Must be able to train on 1st Shift for the first 3 weeks
  • Followed by approximately 5 additional weeks of training on 3rd Shift
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as needed

Job Summary

As a Machine Operator Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting production operations and ensuring packaging machinery operates safely, efficiently, and produces high-quality products. You will assist with machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality checks while contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate manufacturing and powered equipment
  • Monitor machine operation and product quality
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Accurately document production and maintenance activities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
  • English comprehension required for safety training, work instructions, and production documentation
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and work throughout the entire shift
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment that may be hot and humid
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and various shifts as needed
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen
