Floor Care Technician

Salary: $18.13-$21.75

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Floor Care Technician for a growing residential cleaning company serving clients throughout Kitsap County. This swing-shift position is ideal for an experienced custodial professional with strong floor care skills. The primary focus of this role is routine floor maintenance, trash removal, and environmental services of a mental health facility after hours.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous janitorial, custodial, or environmental services experience and be proficient in the operation of commercial floor care equipment including buffers, waxers, and floor stripping equipment.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform routine floor care including stripping, waxing, sealing, burnishing, buffing, and refinishing hard surface floors
• Operate commercial floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, waxers, auto scrubbers, and floor stripping machines
• Monitor and maintain carpeted and hard surface flooring throughout the facility
• Empty interior and exterior trash receptacles and transport refuse to designated disposal areas
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, common areas, offices, workspaces, restrooms, and other facility areas
• Clean and disinfect surfaces in accordance with facility standards and safety procedures
• Stock custodial closets and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of floor care and custodial equipment
• Follow proper chemical handling procedures, safety regulations, and PPE requirements
• Report equipment issues, facility damage, safety concerns, or security risks to management
• Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards during after-hours operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or environmental services experience
• Hands-on experience operating commercial floor care equipment including buffers, waxers, strippers, burnishers, and auto-scrubbers
• Valid Washington State driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team when needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or reach throughout an entire shift
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to safely operate floor care machinery and custodial equipment
• Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors as needed
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and work with approved cleaning chemicals
• Visual and auditory ability to perform inspections and safely operate equipment

Pay: $21.00/hour

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:00pm-12:00am
