OUR CLIENT IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD IS SEEKING AN INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR/SEAMSTRESS!

Position: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator/Seamstress

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm 

Pay: $18.42 per hour 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Set up, operate, adjust and maintain all sewn products, production machines, and equipment.
• Effectively and safely operate single and double needle industrial sewing machines.
• Ensure that machines are producing quality stitches according to required quality standards.
• Work as a team with others in the assembly line to ensure product quality.
• Report any mechanical issues and/or deviations related to machine functions to be corrected by Maintenance Mechanic.
• Perform minor types of maintenance as required, including cleaning out dust in motor area, checking machine oil levels, replacing needles and thread, etc.
• Ensure that the machines and surrounding areas are kept clean and in an orderly state during and at end of shift.
• Eliminate safety hazards that he/she is able to correct; report any and all safety hazards.
• Assist in day-to-day production efforts in his/her designated work area.
• Must have reliable and consistent attendance, as well as being punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
• Cut excess material and thread using trimming scissors.
• Must be able to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Experience working with walking foot sewing machines.
• Experience working with welt foot attachments.
• Ability to operate sewing machines to perform sewing operations, such as joining, reinforcing, and/or decorating product.
• Understands thread-through guides, tensions, and needles. Can adjust machine functions according to fabric type and denier.
• Positions item under needle, using marks on machine, clamp or template, edges of cloth, or markings on cloth as guides.
• Turns knobs, screws, and dials to adjust settings of machine, according to material style and observation of operation
• Satisfactory safety record, having the attitude of safety first by being proactive in general.
