Seeking a Surgery Float Tech for a local Animal Hospital:

 

Summary

Advanced technician role centered on surgical preparation, anesthesia, dentistry, controlled substances, equipment readiness, and flexible support throughout the hospital.

Job Duties:

• Prepare the surgical suite, anesthetic machine, monitoring equipment, tubing, oxygen, anesthetic agents, and instruments.
• Prepare and intubate patients, monitor anesthesia, document vital parameters, and alert the veterinarian to abnormalities immediately.
• Perform dental scaling and polishing as authorized.
• Maintain surgical, anesthetic, dental, autoclave, and laboratory equipment.
• Maintain controlled-substance logs according to hospital, state, and federal requirements.
• Float throughout the hospital to maintain efficient patient and client flow and provide training to less-experienced staff.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgical monitoring, equipment function, sterile technique, and critical-patient monitoring.

• Ability to train less-experienced team members and give clear direction when necessary.

• Ability to stand and move for most of the shift and lift approximately 40-50 pounds unassisted.
