Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 an hr DOE

Seeking a Inpatient Technician for a local Animal Hospital:

 

Summary

Advanced inpatient technician responsible for hospitalized and urgent-care patients, IV therapy, medication administration, emergency response, client updates, and higher-acuity monitoring.

Job Duties:

• Administer medications by appropriate routes as directed and document treatments accurately.

• Monitor patient status at required intervals and communicate changes promptly to the veterinarian.
• Place IV catheters, obtain blood samples, manage fluids, and support urgent and emergency cases.
• Provide clear client updates and discharge instructions for hospitalized and surgical patients.

Requirements:

• Strong venipuncture skills in jugular, cephalic, and saphenous veins
• Proficiency placing IV catheters in routine and challenging patients
• Ability to recognize deterioration, breathing difficulty, seizures, pain, shock, and other urgent conditions.
• Working knowledge of CPR, oxygen therapy, emergency medications, and fluid therapy.
