Outpatient Technician

Located in Albuquerque, NM

Salary: $17.00 - $21.00 an hr DOE

Seeking an Outpatient Technician for a local Animal Hospital:

 

Summary

Intermediate technician role responsible for efficient outpatient workflow, patient handling, diagnostics, medication support, client communication, and accurate documentation.

Job Duties:

• Take histories and vital signs and assist doctors through outpatient appointments.

• Administer vaccinations and medications and obtain diagnostic samples as trained and authorized.

• Set up and run blood, urine, fecal, and imaging diagnostics and assist with radiography

• Fill medication and refill requests according to approval and controlled-drug protocols

Requirements:

• Proficiency in routine restraint, patient handling, venipuncture, vaccines, medications, diagnostics, and AVIMARK medical-history functions.
• Knowledge of common infectious and zoonotic diseases and appropriate isolation/disinfection procedures
• Ability to use SOAP documentation and correctly identify common instruments, medications, and abbreviations.
