Kennel Technician

Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 an hr DOE

Seeking a Kennel Technician for a local Animal Hospital:

 

Summary

Entry-level clinical support role focused on patient and boarding care, safe restraint, basic diagnostics, sanitation, stocking, and assistance to doctors and senior technicians.

Job Duties:

• Provide food, water, exercise, medication, and general care to hospitalized and boarded patients as directed
• Assist doctors and technicians in exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgery as trained.
• Obtain vital signs, assist with vaccinations and blood collection, and run basic in-house diagnostic tests as trained.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate abnormalities promptly

Requirements:

• Ability to learn hospital protocols for restraint, vaccines, medications, venipuncture, infectious disease control, and medical records.
• Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, instruments, and common equipment.
• Ability to stand and move for most of the shift and lift approximately 40-50 pounds unassisted.
