Forklift/Material Handler- 1st Shift

Located in Wallingford, CT

Salary: $18/-$21/hr

Looking for steady work with weekends off? Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Material Handler for our client, an international metal processing and distribution company known for its stability, safety, and long-standing reputation in the industry.

Monday–Friday day shift that keeps your evenings and weekends free.

7am to 3:30pm

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Move raw materials, finished products, and equipment around the facility using a forklift, plus cranes, hoists, and hand trucks as needed.
2. Pick, package, and stock product accurately to fill customer orders and follow the inventory plan.
3. Load and unload trucks, verifying the right items go out and come in.
4. Identify and set aside defective material, and complete paperwork per work instructions.
5. Inspect the forklift at the start of every shift and follow all safety, ISO, and 6S standards.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Previous forklift certification.
3. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and handle bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
4. Ability to read and write English and do basic math.
5. Preferred: experience with handheld measuring tools and basic computer skills, such as database programs and Microsoft Office.
