Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA
Hourly Pay: $30.00–$35.00
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.

 

A company specialising in the engineering, manufacture and installation of bespoke processing machinery is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician. Serving customers internationally, the business produces equipment from a wide selection of alloys, thermoplastics and fiberglass.

 

The technician will maintain production assets, company vehicles and the premises, resolving breakdowns and supporting day-to-day operations.

 

Key Duties

• Inspect the building routinely, identify defects and complete assigned repairs to plumbing, electrical outlets, fuses, lights, doors, roofing, air conditioning and concrete.
• Service and repair workshop tools, welding equipment, compressors, trucks, forklifts and carts through planned upkeep and responsive maintenance.
• Locate the causes of mechanical and electrical failures by consulting schematics, manufacturer documentation and equipment instructions.
• Determine which replacement parts are needed, arrange ordering through office staff and fit components when they arrive.
• Monitor maintenance supplies and organise the stock area so materials are readily available.
• Support production colleagues with mechanical assembly when needed.
• Balance several assignments while keeping maintenance areas tidy, safe and ready for use.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of two years maintaining buildings or mechanical machinery.
• Ability to translate mechanical drawings into a practical work plan and job layout.
• Skilled use of screwdrivers, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, calipers and micrometers.
• Own tools and the ability to lift 40 pounds using safe handling techniques.
• Effective fault-finding, task prioritisation and independent working skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and comply with maintenance methods, safety rules and quality standards.
• Strong communication and cooperation, with a respectful approach towards customers and colleagues at every level.
• Reliable attendance, availability for overtime and willingness to travel.
