Job Title: Demand/Drain Shop
Department: Operations / Maintenance
Reports To: Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Demand/Drain Shop Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and operation of drainage systems, pumps, piping, and related equipment. This position ensures drainage infrastructure functions efficiently, supports preventative maintenance programs, and assists with troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair drainage systems, pumps, valves, tanks, and associated equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on drain and fluid handling systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of drainage or flow issues.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery safely.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
• Assist with installation and modification of drainage systems and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs or upgrades as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operating standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support inventory management by tracking parts, supplies, and equipment usage.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training, vocational certification, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, plumbing, drainage systems, or industrial operations preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of pumps, piping systems, valves, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call schedules as needed.

Working Conditions

• Industrial, shop, and field environments.
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, water, mud, grease, and varying weather conditions.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other equipment as necessary.
