Assembly Technician

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $24.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking an Assembly Technician to join a local manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling large industrial concrete paving and slip-forming machinery from blueprints and preparing completed equipment for shipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working with large machinery, and experienced in a manufacturing or mechanical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints and assembly specifications
• Assemble large industrial concrete paving and slip-forming machinery
• Install and position machine components according to specifications
• Utilize hoists and lifting equipment to safely maneuver large components
• Work alongside production team members to meet manufacturing timelines
• Inspect assemblies to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise
• Prepare completed machinery for shipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial production, fabrication, maintenance, or related mechanical experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working with large industrial machinery and components

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and maneuver machine components
• Comfortable using hoists and other lifting equipment
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform physically demanding assembly tasks
• Ability to safely work around large machinery and industrial equipment
