Service Technician

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Service Technician to join a local team. This position will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on compressor systems at manufacturing facilities and automotive shops throughout Iowa. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field. Previous compressor experience is not required, and training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on compressor systems
• Travel to customer locations throughout Iowa to service equipment
• Diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs
• Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and automotive shops
• Work independently to complete service calls efficiently
• Communicate with customers regarding equipment issues and service needs
• Maintain positive and professional customer relationships
• Use basic computer programs to document service information
• Follow company safety procedures while working at customer locations

Qualifications:

• Previous mechanical experience preferred
• Compressor experience is not required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability and willingness to learn new technical systems
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Dependable with strong attendance and time-management skills
• Comfortable traveling throughout Iowa on a daily basis

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment
• Ability to bend and kneel while servicing equipment
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working in manufacturing, industrial, and automotive shop environments
• Ability to drive for extended periods throughout the workday

Additional Information:

• Daily travel throughout Iowa is required
• Some customer locations may require drives of up to three hours
• Occasional overnight travel may be required, although overnight stays are rare
• Position involves independent field service work
• Training on compressor systems will be provided to the right candidate
