RETAIL FLOORING SALES CONSULTANT

 

LOCATION:Salem, OR

PAY: $17.00/hour + Commission

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Retail Flooring Sales Consultant to join a local flooring showroom in Salem. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with a company where they can build customer relationships, develop their sales skills, and grow within the business.

 

As a Retail Flooring Sales Consultant, you will work primarily in the showroom helping homeowners select flooring products that fit their needs, style, and budget. Approximately 95% of the sales process takes place in the showroom, with occasional opportunities to meet customers at their homes to complete measurements and help with their flooring projects.

 

The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, customer-focused, and looking for longevity with a company. Previous flooring experience is not required, as on-the-job training will be provided.

JOB DUTIES:

 

• Assist homeowners with selecting flooring products based on their needs, style, and budget
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process
• Learn flooring products, features, and installation options through on-the-job training
• Prepare estimates and assist customers with their flooring selections
• Schedule and complete approximately 2–3 in-home measurements per week
• Accurately take and record residential measurements
• Read and understand measurements, including feet, inches, and fractions
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers
• Follow up with customers and sales opportunities
• Help maintain an organized and welcoming showroom

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Previous sales or customer service experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident working with customers and discussing products and pricing
• Ability to accurately read and understand measurements, including fractions
• Comfortable taking measurements in customers’ homes
• Dependable, professional, and self-motivated
• Looking for a long-term position with opportunity for longevity and growth
• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable transportation for occasional in-home appointments
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

SCHEDULE:

 

Open 5 days per week

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

 

The majority of the position will be spent selling and assisting customers in the showroom, with approximately 2–3 in-home measurements per week.

COMPENSATION:

 

$17.00/hour + Commission

• Mileage reimbursement for approved in-home appointments
• Paid on-the-job training
• Opportunity to earn additional income through commission
