Warehouse Groundskeeper

Job Summary

The Warehouse Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, safety, and overall condition of the interior of warehouse and facility. This position performs routine housekeeping and material-handling duties throughout the warehouse, including maintaining aisles, work areas, docks, common areas, and equipment areas.

The Warehouse Groundskeeper will also operate powered industrial trucks (PITs), including forklifts, as required to move materials, pallets, and other items safely throughout the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly warehouse floors, aisles, staging areas, docks, and work areas.
• Sweep, clean, and remove trash, debris, cardboard, pallets, and other materials.
• Keep aisles, emergency exits, fire equipment, and designated walkways clear of obstructions.
• Maintain cleanliness in break rooms, restrooms, entrances, and other common areas.
• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move pallets, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Safely transport and stage materials throughout the warehouse and designated storage areas.
• Perform routine housekeeping around racks, dock areas, production/work areas, and warehouse equipment.
• Assist with moving, organizing, and disposing of materials as directed.
• Conduct routine inspections of work areas and report safety hazards, damage, spills, or maintenance concerns.
• Respond promptly to spills and other housekeeping issues to help maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Assist warehouse and maintenance personnel with general facility upkeep and material-handling tasks.
• Follow all company safety policies, PIT procedures, and established warehouse operating practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Must be trained and authorized to operate powered industrial trucks (PITs), including forklifts, in accordance with company requirements.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other PIT equipment used at the facility.
• Previous warehouse, material-handling, housekeeping, facilities, or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work habits.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb as required throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely work around forklifts, powered industrial trucks, warehouse traffic, and other equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive housekeeping and material-handling activities.
