Our client in Palo, IA is looking for a General Laborer – Irrigation Winterization!

 

Position Summary: Our client is seeking dependable, hardworking General Laborers to assist with the seasonal winterization of irrigation systems. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position involving outdoor work, equipment handling, and preparing irrigation systems and materials for the winter season. Previous irrigation experience is helpful but not required — the right candidate will be trained on the job.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing irrigation systems for the winter season and completing seasonal shutdown procedures
• Drag, pick up, coil, organize, and properly store irrigation hoses and equipment
• Lift and move hoses, equipment, and materials into and out of trucks and storage areas
• Perform a variety of physical labor tasks to support the crew and keep jobs moving efficiently
• Properly put away hoses, tools, and equipment at the end of each job or workday
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas by removing debris and properly storing materials
• Work alongside other crew members to complete winterization projects efficiently and safely

Qualifications:

• Previous landscaping, irrigation, construction, or general labor experience is helpful but not required
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, drag, and move hoses, equipment, and materials
• Ability to lift materials into and out of trucks
• Must be comfortable with bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and lifting throughout the workday
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment
• Frequent dragging, pulling, coiling, and handling of heavy hoses
• Ability to load and unload hoses and equipment from trucks
• Ability to remain physically active for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 7:00 AM – Until Job is Finished
• Approximately 50–60 hours per week
• 4 – 6 weeks - Potential to be hired on

Pay:

• $17/hour
