Blaster/Painter- $18-$18.50/hr

We are seeking an experienced Blaster/Painter to perform sandblasting, surface preparation, and industrial painting of equipment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and experienced with both sandblasting and 2-part epoxy paint applications.

Job Type: Temporary / Contract – Full-Time
Assignment Length: Approximately 3 months, with the possibility of conversion to direct hire based on business needs and performance. Conversion is not guaranteed.
Pay Rate: $18.00–$18.50/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, plus 8-hour shifts on Saturdays
Overtime Status: Non-Exempt
Education Required: None

Key Responsibilities

Prepare equipment surfaces for painting using sandblasting, hand sanding, taping, pneumatic sanders, and grinding equipment.
Prepare paint equipment, primers, paints, and other materials for application.
Apply primer and paint according to required specifications.
Perform industrial painting using 2-part epoxy paint systems.
Move materials and equipment to designated staging areas using an overhead crane.
Operate an overhead crane safely as required.
Cross-train and assist in other production areas based on manufacturing and production needs.
Participate in on-the-job training during the first 2–3 weeks of employment.
Assist with general plant housekeeping, including sweeping, emptying trash containers, and properly storing chemicals and materials.
Follow all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, equipment issues, or conditions that may impact productivity.

Required Qualifications

Previous sandblasting experience is required and must be shown on the resume.
Previous experience working with 2-part epoxy paint is required and must be shown on the resume.
Strong attention to detail.
Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to operate or learn to operate an overhead crane.
Ability to follow paint specifications and safety procedures.
Willingness to cross-train in other production areas.
Must be available for overtime and Saturday work as required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to stand and work on your feet for more than 8 hours per day.
Must be comfortable working extended shifts and weekends.
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with no air conditioning.
Ability to safely perform physically demanding surface preparation and painting duties.
Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all applicable safety procedures.
